Prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry, led by Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) Chairman Dil Raju, met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka Garu, Cinematography Minister KomatiReddy Venkat Reddy Garu on Thursday to discuss the development and growth of the film industry at national and international levels.
Dil Raju revealed that CM Revanth Reddy provided guidance and valuable inputs to enhance the film industry’s growth. Addressing the rumours surrounding the meeting, Dil Raju said, “There is no truth in to the negative news being spread about the meeting. Matters that have not being discussed are being circulated and misrepresented as if they happened. There is no negativity from the government towards the film industry. The government is very supportive.”
Calling it a productive meeting, Dil Raju stated, “CM garu shared his vision for the film industry. He aspires to make Hyderabad an international and global hub that also suits Hollywood productions. Everyone attended the meeting thanked the CM for his guidance. We will work on his inputs and present a detailed proposal in the next meeting.”
Dil Raju clarified the discussions were focused on the industry’s overall growth and not on minor issues like ticket pricing and benefit shows. “The agenda of the meeting was to explore how Telugu cinema can grow on a national and international scale. CM garu urged us to develop Hyderabad as a global hub for cinema, similar to its current status as a hub for pharma and IT sectors,” he explained.
Dil Raju also noted the government’s appeal for industry celebs to promote awareness about social issues and support government. He also revealed that the government asked FDC to act as a catalyst to hold the “Gaddar Film Awards” every year.
Regarding the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident, Dil Raju shared that the police have not shown them any footage related to the incident. However, the DGP garu ordered them to be accountable for the behaviour of our bouncers.”
A committee comprising film industry representatives and government officials will be formed to facilitate further collaborations. Dil Raju asserted, that as TFDC Chairman, he will act as the bridge between the industry and the government for collaborative efforts.
