American actor to star in Yash’s ‘Toxic’

American actor Kyle Paul took to his social media to share his thoughts about starring in a supporting role in Rocking Star Yash’s upcoming action thriller Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups, calling it “the best experience I ever had on set”. Dishing out the details of stepping into an uncharted linguistic territory, Paul revealed how challenging — yet rewarding — it was to speak Kannada during an intense emotional scene.

“I just had a really good experience on a movie set here in India,” Paul shared. “I’m filming a movie called Toxic and it’s like 3 am by the way. For this scene, I needed to have really really high emotions but then I had to speak an Indian language called Kannada. So I had to be emotional and logical to think about all these words that I barely understand and it just wasn’t working in my head. I just couldn’t keep such a high emotion but think logically about it. Couldn’t do it!”

What made the moment truly memorable for Paul was the support he received from the film’s director, Geetu Mohandas. He added, “The director — her name is Geetu — freaking adorable — the whole time I was screwing up, she was like ‘You got this!’ and ‘Take your time, we’re there for you’ — just cheering me on the whole time. It was truly the best experience I ever had on set.”

An action-packed thriller, Toxic is a cinematic spectacle and a bold step in putting Kannada on the global map. As the first large-scale Indian project to be conceptualized, written, and filmed in both English and Kannada, Toxic stands as a cultural bridge between Indian storytelling and international audiences. Kannada, with its rich heritage, takes center stage in this ambitious venture, ensuring authenticity for Indian viewers while making waves worldwide. The film will also be dubbed in several Indian and international languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, further solidifying its global appeal.

Jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups is poised to redefine the action genre, merging Western precision with Indian intensity.
