A wonderful film based on the novel ‘Butterfly’ written by a 13-year-old girl “Saria”

Saira wrote the novel ‘Butterfly’ when she was ten and a half years old, making her the youngest novelist in the country. Saira is now thirteen years old. Judging by the title, one might assume it’s a fairy tale written by a child, but the inspiration came from the hardships of her classmates faced due to their parents’ divorces. She first heard about ‘divorce’ from a friend when she was in the second grade. Over the next few months, more classmates experienced similar family separations, and Saira attempted to console them, but her efforts often fell short. Motivated by a desire to write on the problems faced by children her age, Saira completed the novel in just nine days. Today, she is excelling not only in writing but also in singing and scriptwriting for advertisements. Saira participated in Hyderabad Literary festival( HLF) as a panel list and spoke about her writings. She was the youngest panel list in HLF 2024. Saira’s mom Rubina Parveen is the national award winning social entrepreneur and AD filmmaker. Her father Dr. M.K. Khaishagi studied M.Tech, Ph.D from IIT and working in Irrigation Department as a Deputy Superintendent of Engineer in Telangana.
