Everyone today is driven by web series a higher population of the country has invested in watching regional shows and series of the same line. With every passing second, more individuals are diverting themselves from movies to Digital platforms/Over-the-Content (OTT) platforms in India, be it Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, MX Player or any of such platforms available today.
Attributing major part of its success to sports, Hotstar has been ranked the most downloaded and most used OTT entertainment app in India. It has secured 49 percent share in the OTT entertainment app segment in terms of smartphone installations. Where as other apps were purely depending on web series. The censorship for web content is in discussion for a while. The govt has been in talks with some of the OTT members to think about censoring their content. the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister has voiced out that the govt will take possible steps for censoring the digital content.
