Actress and noted classical dancer Indrani Davulluri is elated to have been honoured with ‘Natya Mayuri’ at Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu. The ‘Magane En Marumagane’ actress is, of late, making waves for her stage performances while exhibiting her flair for the art form.
“Chidambaram is a place of great antiquity. It is revered as one of the holiest sites in India for a millennia. And being invited by the temple organization of Lord Nataraja to perform is like a dream come true for me. I was able to perform a solo recital of a duration of 80 minutes with the support of the local orchestra. And the evening was simply spell binding to hear the sounds of the bells bounce off the walls of the pillars,” says the actress.
The ‘Gangleader’ actress expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and the honour of ‘Natya Mayuri’ bestowed upon her by the temple authorities.
Indrani, who also holds Masters Degree in performing arts , is also known for her films like Tamil fantasy comedy ‘Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan’, ‘Collector’ and ‘Maya Bazaar’ in Malayalam and ‘Kusuma’, ‘Bidda’ and Gangleader in Kannada languages along with various commercials to her credit.
