The blockbuster horror thriller “Demonte Colony 2” is set for a grand theatrical release in Telugu on the 23rd of this month. Mythri Movie Distribution Company will handle its distribution in Nizam. The film is produced by B. Suresh Reddy and B. Manasa Reddy under the banner of Sree Balaji Films, with N. Srinivasa Reddy presenting it. The cast includes Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar, with Antti Jaskelainen, Tsering Dorjee, and Arun Pandian playing key roles. Directed by Ajay R. Gnanamuthu, the pre-release event for “Demonte Colony 2” was held in Hyderabad today, with guests including directors Ram Gopal Varma and Ajay Bhupathi, as well as producer Bekkem Venugopal.
Producer B. Suresh Reddy commented, “I thoroughly enjoyed ‘Demonte Colony.’ Since the announcement of ‘Demonte Colony 2,’ I have been closely involved with director Ajay Gnanamuthu. The movie’s release was delayed due to VFX work. The original film was a big hit in Tamil, and I hope it will achieve even greater success in Telugu. The thriller elements are particularly impressive. Ajay R. Gnanamuthu is a technically skilled director, and his previous works like ‘Anjali IPS,’ ‘Cobra,’ and ‘Demonte Colony’ are highly commendable. We are confident in his talent and are releasing this movie in Telugu with great anticipation.”
Producer Bekkem Venugopal said, “Producer Suresh Reddy is a friend of mine. When he informed me about ‘Demonte Colony 2,’ I encouraged him to make a great film. Director Ajay has assembled a strong team for this project. It’s a film that will make audiences want to visit the theaters. It was a major hit in Tamil, and I hope the Telugu audience will support it as well.”
Shashi from Mythri Movie Distribution added, “We are grateful to Producer Suresh Reddy and Director Ajay R. Gnanamuthu for entrusting us with the distribution of ‘Demonte Colony 2’ in Nizam. The film, which was released in Tamil on the 15th of this month, has been a great success there. We watched it at Vimal Theatre yesterday, and it is engaging enough to keep viewers hooked. We are confident ‘Demonte Colony 2’ will also succeed in Telugu.”
Heroine Priya Bhavani Shankar said, “We appreciate the support from Telugu producers for ‘Demonte Colony 2.’ We are thankful to all the guests who attended the event today. The special premiere of our movie received a positive response. The Tamil version has impressed audiences, and we hope to replicate that success in Telugu. We encourage everyone to watch ‘Demonte Colony 2’ in theaters on the 23rd of this month.”
Director Ajay R. Gnanamuthu said, “Thank you to the media friends, directors RGV, Ajay Bhupathi, and other guests who attended the pre-release event for ‘Demonte Colony 2.’ I produced and directed this film myself. We completed the movie in January 2023. As soon as we received the first copy, we began exploring business deals. After finishing the shooting and post-production work, Producer Suresh Reddy approached us from First Telugu to buy the film. He secured the Telugu rights without even seeing a single scene, demonstrating his trust in the movie. The first business deal for ‘Demonte Colony 2’ was indeed with Telugu. The film was a major hit in Tamil, and we hope it will be well received by the Telugu audience as well. We are also planning to make Parts 3 and 4, with all the cast members from Part 2 continuing in the subsequent installments. For the first time, this horror movie incorporates elements of Buddhism by casting a Tibetan actor.”
Director Ajay Bhupathi said, “‘Demonte Colony 1’ was released while I was seeking directing opportunities. I watched that movie multiple times on my laptop and was captivated. Despite much of the film taking place in a single room, the director managed to keep us engaged. When my friend Suresh Reddy told me he was taking on ‘Demonte Colony 2,’ I immediately encouraged him to proceed. I was confident in the director’s capabilities. After watching the premiere of ‘Demonte Colony 2,’ we were very excited. The performances, suspense, and music are impressive. I believe ‘Demonte Colony 2’ will surpass the success of ‘Demonte Colony 1.'”
Director Ram Gopal Varma said, “I made a film called ‘Bhoot’ twenty years ago, which took place in an apartment. After its release, many people were afraid to enter apartments for a while. Ajay Gnanamuthu told me that after ‘Demonty Colony,’ there was controversy over the colony’s name. This film was already a success, and now it’s being released in another language. I am confident that producer Suresh Reddy will continue to make good films. Although I have not seen the premiere, there has been positive feedback from those who attended. Today, smaller films are becoming successful based on their content, while larger films are struggling. There is a trend towards content-driven cinema, and I hope ‘Demonte Colony 2’ will be well-supported in Telugu as well.”
