Global Star Ram Charan teamed up with legendary filmmaker Shankar for the pan-India biggie “Game Changer”. The film is set for a grand release on January 10. Ahead of the theatrical release, the team held a press meet in Mumbai today. Along with the film’s lead hero Ram Charan, the event witnessed the presence of producer Dil Raju, AA Films’ Anil Thadani, and actor SJ Suryah.
Speaking at the event, Ram Charan said, “Shankar sir remade 3 Idiots as Nanban in Tamil. I was the chief guest for the audio launch of the Telugu version of that movie. When I met Shankar sir on that day, I wished that he could make a Telugu film one day, not with me but any other day. But I never expressed my wish to him. After a few years, Dil Raju garu called me when I was shooting for RRR and told me that Shankar sir wants to work with me. Initially, I did not believe him. But when it was confirmed, I immediately called back Shankar sir. We have all grown up watching his films. As recently Rajamouli said, he is an epitome of commercial films. He defined larger-than-life cinema and global cinema. He was the first pan-Indian director we had. I feel blessed working with Shankar sir. As an actor, I feel enriched to work with Rajamouli garu and Shankar sir in a span of five years. Both Shankar and Rajamouli are taskmasters, and they expect a lot from each actor. They give you every opportunity to perform and give your best. It is very rare to work with such talent. They keep pushing you. Not a single day do they make you relax. They don’t want to waste a single shot. Shankar sir is so particular that he once found out a 5% difference in my hairstyle. Such particularity he has. SJ Suryah is one of the craziest actors and persons I have ever met.”
Producer Dil Raju said, “This was my 50th film. I wanted something special for this movie. From the time I heard the script, I decided to make it big. On top of it, Ram Charan became a Global Star after RRR. So we didn’t want to compromise. I wanted to do something special with Game Changer. As everyone was going across India to promote their films, I wanted to go to America. Thus, we held the event in Dallas. It was a great event that witnessed an attendance of more than 12,000 people. There are five songs in the movie. We spent Rs. 75 crore for those five songs. Each song was shot for 10-12 days. Shankar sir designs the songs himself, and he is very particular about it. Jaragandi was shot for 10 days in Hyderabad. Naanaa Hyraanaa was an experimental song shot for 10 days in New Zealand. Ra Macha Macha was shot for 10 days in Amritsar.”
Anil Thadani, who is releasing the film’s Hindi version, said, “I am really thanking Dil Raju garu for letting me be a part of his special 50th film. He has been the backbone of this massive film. I have worked with Shankar sir before, and he is known for his larger-than-life films. Hopefully, this turns out to be as successful as his previous films I worked on. SJ Suryah has got a massive fan following, and I have seen his skills; he is amazing. Coming to Ram Charan, being such a massive star, he is a great human being. It is always a pleasure to work with him. I hope the film is going to be the best for everyone involved.”
Actor SJ Suryah said, “Wishing you a very Happy New Year. I hope this year, God will bless us with hits in every language. I hope that the success streak will start with Game Changer. I dubbed myself in the Hindi version. I hope you like it. I got this offer from Shankar sir to work with a big star like Ram Charan garu. Ram Charan garu’s performance as Ram Nandan and Appanna will enthrall you. I’m not exaggerating, but the Appanna character, which comes in the flashback, will stay in your hearts. I watched Jaragandi for the first time, and I got high with those visuals. I loved it, and people will love it for sure. The film is coming on January 10. The movie is all about the war between a crooked politician and an honest IAS officer. It will entertain you for sure. What Pawan Kalyan garu has been doing on-field is what Ram Charan does in this movie. Everyone did a good job, including me (smiles). Game Changer is going to be a real game-changer. I hope you will enjoy it all.”
Game Changer features a stellar cast, including Kiara Advani, Anjali, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, Jayaram, Sunil, and Naveen Chandra. Thaman composed the music for it. Dil Raju and Sirish bankrolled the film under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations, Dil Raju Productions, and Zee Studios. SVC and Adityaram Movies produced the film in Tamil. AA Films’ Anil Thadani is releasing it in Hindi.
