The much-anticipated sequel to Vidudala-1, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran, is all set to hit theaters worldwide on December 20th. Titled ‘Vidudala-2’, the film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier in pivotal roles and promises to be a cinematic spectacle. As part of its promotional activities, the lead actors visited Hyderabad on Sunday and interacted with the media, sharing insights about the film.
Speaking at the event, Vijay Sethupathi expressed his confidence in the movie, saying:
“Vidudala-2 is a film I am incredibly proud of. The support I receive from Telugu audiences is unparalleled. After the success of my recent film Maharaja, I believe this movie will also win hearts. With Ilaiyaraaja’s mesmerizing music and an impactful storyline, Vidudala-2 is a film that everyone should experience in theaters. It will leave the audience fully satisfied.”
Producer Chintapalli Rama Rao, who acquired the Telugu rights for the film, highlighted its unique aspects:
“Though originally a Tamil film, Vidudala-2 is deeply rooted in Telugu nativity. It is inspired by real incidents and addresses pressing issues relevant to our region. Vetri Maaran’s vision, coupled with Ilaiyaraaja’s music and Peter Hein’s extraordinary action choreography, makes this a cinematic experience like no other. With 257 days of filming and 127 days dedicated to Vijay Sethupathi’s performance, this movie is poised to create a sensation in both Telugu and Tamil cinema.”
Manju Warrier, who plays a key role, shared her excitement:
“Working with Vetri Maaran again, after Asuran, has been an unforgettable experience. Being a part of Vidudala-2, alongside a brilliant actor like Vijay Sethupathi, is a privilege. This film holds a special place in my career. Ilaiyaraaja’s music is the soul of the film, and I encourage everyone to watch it in theaters to truly appreciate its grandeur.”
With a powerful narrative, stunning action sequences, and an emotionally resonant soundtrack, Vidudala-2 has already created a buzz among audiences. The film aims to replicate and surpass the success of its predecessor, Vidudala-1, when it releases on December 20th.
