PJ Productions, a film production house dedicated to nurturing talent in the Telugu film industry, is set to bring another cinematic venture to audiences. Titled Mission Maya, this film, produced under Production No. 2 by Praveen Jollu and directed by Khushi Rao, had its posters launched at Ravindra Bharati by Dialogue King Sai Kumar, actor Ali, and Mamidi Harikrishna. The dignitaries extended their best wishes to the film’s team during the event. A standout feature of Mission Maya is that it was entirely shot on iPhones, with extensive use of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
Speaking at the event, Mamidi Harikrishna said, “Greetings to all. Telugu filmmakers have always been at the forefront of adopting new technologies and VFX in cinema. This film makes significant use of AI technology, and its title is particularly intriguing. Shooting the entire film on an iPhone is another unique aspect. With creativity, computer knowledge, and artificial intelligence, this film is poised to set a benchmark for future generations. As a mystery thriller, I wish the entire team all the best.”
Director Khushi Rao expressed gratitude, stating, “I thank all the media friends who attended this event. Looking at the current market, we wanted to create a film with a fresh idea. While making a film in the usual way is fine, we chose to experiment with AI technology, sound effects, VFX and music. Such an experiment is no small feat, and it’s remarkable that actors agreed to be part of this project. Despite uncertainties about financial returns, our producer Pravein believed in us and supported this venture. By using AI technology and shooting on iPhones, we believe this film will carve a unique identity in the industry.”
Producer Praveen Jollu shared, “We set out to make a film shot on an iPhone using advanced technology. I must specially thank the actors and crew who worked tirelessly and supported this project. While making this film, I wasn’t focused on the money invested or other concerns—my only goal was to see this project completed for the team. Shooting a film in a forest with just a mobile phone is an incredibly challenging task for a director, yet the team worked hard to bring this vision to life.”
Satyanarayana added, “I thank the media for their constant support. When we started this project, the idea was to shoot a film using an iPhone. We wanted the film to feel natural, so we shot in an actual forest. The producer ensured our safety and well-being throughout the process, standing by us like a pillar of strength. When director Kushi shared the vision for this project, I was thrilled. Every actor was selected through auditions, ensuring the best fit for the film.”
