After the world premiere at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), renowned production house and producer of National Award winning 2022 superhit film Karthikeya 2, People Media Factory’s upcoming trilingual film Maa Kaali has bagged the Best Political Film award at the prestigious Jaipur International Film Festival. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and TG Krithi Prasad, Vijay Yelakanti directorial Maa Kaali stars Raima Sen and Abhishek Singh in the lead.
On 17th January 2025, the director of Maa Kaali Vijay Yelakanti along with the leading actor Raima Sen, attended the Jaipur International Film Festival and received the Best Political Film award.
Overwhelmed by the honour, the leading lady of the film Raima Sen shares, “I always knew that Maa Kaali had a potential which will resonate with the audience. This recognition empowers us to continue to tell stories that matter and inspire positive change. As this is a female lead film, it is more satisfactory to get this recognition from JIFF.”

Highlighting the bloody truth of the ruthless massacre in Calcutta and Noakhali in present day India and Bangladesh respectively, Maa Kaali aims to bring forth the truth behind the Direct Action Day, which resulted into the partition of India.
The socio-politically relevant subject of Maa Kaali makes it one of the most important films of the current time. Depicting the persecution of Hindus and the communal turmoil of Bengal from 1946 to the present day Bangladesh, Maa Kaali also highlights the importance of CAA and the need of its implementation.
Written and directed by Vijay Yelakanti, Maa Kaali is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and TG Krithi Prasad, and presented by makers of Karthikeya 2 People Media Factory. The pan-Indian film shot in Hindi and will release in Bengali and Telugu as well in theatres in 2025.
