‘Sarangapani Jathakam’, directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti, is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the banner of Sridevi Movies. The film stars Priyadarshi and Roopa Koduvayur in lead roles. This is the third collaboration between Indraganti and Sivalenka Krishna Prasad after the successful films ‘Gentleman’ and ‘Sammohanam’. The film is scheduled to be released on December 20th. Today, the teaser was released by the sensational star hero Vijay Deverakonda.
Speaking after the teaser release, Vijay Deverakonda said, “I started my career with my brother, Priyadarshi. He has been doing good films by doing lead roles in interesting stories. I just watched the teaser of his latest film, ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’, wherein his character believes in horoscopes. I don’t know what true horoscopes are like. When I and Darshi did ‘Pelli Choopulu’, we didn’t imagine that we would reach this level. Destiny has brought us here. I am so happy to see his journey. ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’ is directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti. I can’t tell you how much I laughed watching his film ‘Ashta Chamma’. It was a very different content at that time. I enjoyed that movie a lot. Similarly, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad garu, the head of Sridevi Movies, has been making very good films for a long time. I wish ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’ a big success. All the best to the director-producer duo.”
In the Teaser, the male lead is a firm believer in horoscopes. He believes that our entire life is pre-determined. Not only does he believe that what is written in the predictions column in dailies every morning is infallible, but he also can’t contain his joy when something good happens in his life. He breaks into bouts of joy spontaneously, regardless of who is around him or where he is. What consequences does his unshakeable faith in horoscopes lead to? Why did Sarangapani try to kill someone at a wedding mandap when he got to marry his lover? Why did he stab VK Naresh’s character with a knife? Is it real or a dream? Who is the villain in his life? What kind of character did Tanikella Bharani play as a Kichakudu (mythological reference)? Why does he wait for a granny named Sundaramma to die? To find answers to these questions, you have to watch the movie in theaters on December 20th. Judging by the trailer, Srinivas Avasarala, Vennela Kishore, and Viva Harsha’s comic timing will make everyone laugh.
The comedy is also trendy. When an old woman teases the titular character, Vennela Kishore’s character gasps, “Of all the body parts, how come she remembers only that?” Avasarala Srinivas gets to mouth meaty lines: ‘He who has celestial bow Sharanga is Sarangapani’, and ‘I am not equipped with amulets and penance mantras’. Vadlamani Srinivas plays a father who cribs that his son is not practical-minded. The hero himself is after ‘My family, my friends, my office’.
