Veteran Heroine and Senior Artist Geetanjali died in the early hours of 31 October 2019 from cardiac arrest. She died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital near Film Nagar in Hyderabad. In her 55 years of film career Geetanjali has acted in more than 550 films in Telugu Tamil Malayalam and Hindi. Geetanjali made her debut in Senior NTR directorial venture Seetharama Kalyanam in 1961. With Seetharama Kalyanam, Dr Chakravarthy, Letha Manasulu, Bobbili Yuddham, Devatha, Letha Manasulu, Gudachari 116 and Sambarala Rambabu films Geetanjali claimed as one of the finest actress.
The actress worked with actor Rama Krishna in a few films before marrying him. Rama Krishna is also a great actor who has acted in many Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam movies. After Ramakrishna expired Geetanjali stopped doing films. Almost a decade later Geetanjali made her reentry with Jagapathi Babu’s Pellaina Kottalo. Her son is introduced as a hero in a film called Bhuma. Geetanjali sudden death is huge loss to TFI. Though her name is Mani, she will be remembered as Geetanjali.
