Writer Sarath Chandra approached the Hyderabad Nampally court claiming that the story of Srimanthudu was copied from the story published in Swati Patrika, a magazine.
The Nampally court ordered to take criminal action against the director Koratala Siva after investigating Sarath Chandra’s petition. Director Koratala Siva approached the Telangana High Court against the order of the Nampally court.
As the Telangana High Court also upheld the Nampally court orders…Siva approached the Supreme Court. A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice Prashanth Kumar Misra heard the petition filed by Koratala Siva. The bench considered Koratala Siva’s petition and clarified that there was nothing to conduct further investigation.
The bench asked Niranjan Reddy whether the petition would be dismissed or withdrawn. When he said he would withdraw the petition… the bench allowed it.
