Star Boy Siddu Jonnalagadda Hilarious comedy at ‘Tillu Square’ “Oh My Lilly” song launch event

Star Boy Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s upcoming film Tillu Square is scheduled to hit theatres on March 29th, 2024, worldwide. Directed by Mallik Ram, the film stars multi-faceted Siddhu Jonnalagadda as the iconic character Tillu. Siddu also wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the film which is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments. Tillu Square is presented by Srikara Studios.

The teaser and trailer have also gone viral setting huge expectations for the film in the public. Now, the team has released third single ‘Oh My Lilly’ from the album at a promotional event held at AMB mall here in Hyderabad on Monday. The song is composed by super talented composer Achu Rajamani and crooned by Sreeram Chandra. Siddhu has written lyrics for the song.

Like “Ticket eh Konakunda”, “Radhikaa” , this song, “Oh My Lilly” is also going to become a huge viral hit. As the movie release is near by, the makers have expressed huge confidence about the content and the song building more buzz to already highly anticipated film.

Siddu Jonnalagadda: When we first wrote DJ Tillu, we had written the script in a free-flowing manner. We had no expectations. We had to change the title following the response that we got from people. Then it became a character-driven story. Now when we sat to write the part 2, it was quite challenging for us to keep the momentum. There was no certain plan. We’re suppose to come Feb 9, due to ‘Eagle’s release we had to respect the decision. Later, we released the Tillu Square trailer on Valentine’s Day following repeated requests.

When the makers told me that a sequel should be made for ‘DJ Tillu’, it took me a lot of time to digest it. Because the first part was a resounding hit. To recreate the magic once again is a massive challenge for any filmmaker. When we thought of a sequel, director of ‘DJ Tillu’, Vimal Krishna, gave his commitment to another film. It was then that I and Mallik Ram thought of giving it a try. Since we were working parallelly for some other story. We thought, ” why don’t we give this sequel a try?” That’s how Tillu Square materialised.

Anupama Parameswaran: First and foremost I thank media friends for being here for the song launch. I couldn’t visit on time since I was running late following a film shoot today. I apologise for being so late. First time, I am attending an event that is related to Tillu Square. And the response that you people gave us today is amazing. And I am not going to miss any of the events in Tillu Square. I want this love, so March 29 we’re all excited.

This is one of the most-special characters that I have done so far in Tillu Square. For the past 3 years, I have been experimenting with the characters. As an actor, I could not explore a few characters because of the limitations I had and the circle I was put into. I was bored doing girl-next-door characters. Later, during the lockdown, I explored world cinema a lot. I played the character Lilly in Tillu Square, I coordinate along with event manager Tillu (played by Siddu).

Suryadevara Naga Vamsi: I don’t think we’re coming at the wrong time. Because, exams will be completed by March 31 for Class 10 and exams have come to end for Inter students. Tillu Square is this summer’s first film. I think Tillu Square has the advantage because Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections have been pushed to May 13. We opted to rope in Bheems Ceciroleo because S Thaman was busy with too many projects. I think we’re coming at a very appropriate time to theatres. After witnessing the craze of DJ Tillu, I always felt that I should once again bring this weird and crazy character Tillu once again on the silverscreen. I think audiences can’t wait to see the euphoria in theatres.

Mallik Ram: Even while starting the part 2, we knew that we have a big challenge ahead. When every department like story, casting and music, we felt that we could match the expectations as we’re doing the film. After shooting everything, we have done 100 percent justice to the story and it is a good sequel to ‘DJ Tillu’. Siddu is a great writer. He would write the scripts and I would direct it on the film sets. There was never any negativity between both of us. We are coming worldwide on March 29.
